Mercy
center in village Shelpaki
There've been created by our foundation a social rehabilitation
Mercy center in the village of Shelpaki in Pidvolochysk district
of Ternopil region, based on the complex of former local hospital.
The complex is created by 8 buildings which are: kitchen-dining
complex for 40 sits; hostel-living house for guests and personal;
administrative building; utility-laboratory building; two department
buildings for patients for 20 and 30 beds correspondingly.
The Mercy center is located in a very picturesque zone with old
park, fruit trees with good environment and fresh healing air.
There has already been invested considerable funds in fixing
of the place and into its modernizing including changing of roofs,
bringing gas pipe line to the complex, heating systems installation,
repairing of water and sewerage systems and many others. There have
been invested totally about 1,000,000 hrivnas into the Mercy center
on the end of 2005 - mainly by Curtis Loftis.
The first line of Mercy center is the retirement home for
old people of Pidvolochysk district has already been opened giving
hospitality for 25 people. Old people are able to find warmth, meals,
medical care and support in our Mercy Center. There are light and
spacious rooms for 3 - 4 people in their disposal and all day long
medical care, free meals, hot water with shower, TV, radio, telephone,
chess, books.
The second line of the Mercy center will be opened in spring of
2006. It's mission will also be humanitarian.
At the same time we do works on creation of computer class
with business center in our Mercy center. The business center will
serve to educate local people, to create working places in the area,
bringing different programs of development, business structures
and investment projects to the district. Village of Shelpaki is
located in the center of agricultural zone, people need help and
land needs farmers, technologies and investments. We will have Peace
Corps volunteer living in NHV starting from May 2006 and helping
us in developing it for the sake of poor people.
